If I am living in the United States, I'd be branded a loser... Why? Technically, I still live with my parents...
What's with the technically? My relationship with my parents is a bit complicated... They are not separated (I would like to believe that they are happy with each other)... But anyway, to make things simple, they live in another house, and me on my own... Thing is, they own the house... So technically, I still live with my parents... Nevertheless, they've been squatting in my place for like three months already... and Im only home just to sleep and take a bath...
This weekend (actually, Ive been contemplating about this for months already), I realized that I really needed to live on my own... there are a lot of thigs that I need to do, that my parents don't need to know... Just so you know, even without my parents, the place I live in, I share with my grandmother (and she's one really nosy person!!! But don't get me wrong, I love the old bird)...
I would like to be independent for once... Far away from people who know me since I was a kid... Far away from people who would report to my parents every single movement that I make... Id like to be free for once... And of course, i would want to see something new... or some new faces... A condominium in the urban area would be nice... Hmmm... how much would a unit there cost? Millions...
Give me ten years... I will have one by then...

ENTRY 15: COLLEGE
Since most of the schools will start this week, I will pay homage to them... err... schools... I've been out of one for more than three years already, and am proud to say that I did good after... I got promoted early on, and am enjoying the perks of yuppihood (see you learn new terms reading my blogs)... But right now, its not about work and the office... its about school... specifically COLLEGE!!!
Unlike most people in the planet, I enjoyed college more than my high school... Part of it is because I was more popular then than when i was in hs... and I was smarter too... I received medals when i was in college... back in my secondary education, the only medal i got was a loyalty medal... but in college, it was for something i did... a trophy, if you must... Suffice it to say, I was more involved... And i had more friends (too bad though, I don't get to talk to them anymore)...
Anyway, back to the topic at hand... college... Those were four good years of my life... Some of the most interesting people I met, I met during these four years... And I've had a lot of
(mis)adventures during these times... starting with...
ROAD TRIP: Of course now you'll have classmates who drives their own cars, so this is a given... My first one was on my first year... we had a project... and it's about getting to know your peers more... and for us to be able to do that, we have to go out-of-town... We've had none of those wacky moments that you'll see in the movies, but we did have fun though, and we got to know each other very well... the people who were with me during that road trip, were the people i hung out with for the rest of my college life... so it was cool...
TERM PAPERS/THESIS/DEFENSE: I know I hated this part of my tertiary life... its the sweat-inducing, sleep-depriving, and most mind-fucking thing a student MUST go through... I don't think college will be complete if you didn't go through this... and if you didn't go through that... WHAT FRIGGIN' SCHOOL DID YOU GO TO?! Im a nerd (a cool nerd) back when I was a student... but i loved doing this... in a way, I learned to talk to people with authority because of these... Im a slow-thinker, but doing these helped improve my debating abilities (if I have any... I'd still lose if I join a contest)... and my social skills as well...
NIGHTLIFE: This is the time of my life wherein my schedule allows me to have a nightlife... school ending at 9pm most of the time... although my click don't go out that much after school, i still am able to enjoy what the best bars in Makati had to offer... Dont get me wrong, i dont go out that much, BUT there are times wherein you just need to chill even for awhile... Those are rare moments... precious and few...
MONEY: I may be as bad as DAMIEN (for those not in the know, he's the boy from Omen), but im not the type who overprice my tuition fee... My educational plan pays half of my tuition fee, so I can't cheat on that... anyway, my money i get from my parent's pockets... or for my case, our business... I miss not having to worry about where I will get my money, because during college I can easily depend on my parents... Unlike now of course, having a bi-weekly salary... If I don't have anymore money, Ill just tell my parents about some made-up project for a non-existent subject and voila, instant cash to splurge on comic books... but now... 'sigh.'
I'd like to write some more, but then again, a family member might chance upon this site and i don't have deniability... this site being advertised on my friendster and all that... I miss college, but not that much...

ENTRY 14: HOW I COULD BECOME A MILLIONAIRE
Im 24, and i have a new goal: TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE BY THE TIME I HIT 40...
Now how do i do that, seeing that im a lazy guy... I mean if you take away my job, id be a bum with nothing better to do but watch television and sleep (and eat occassionally)... But then, Ive got all these weird ideas floating around me, and suddenly, i want to become a millionaire... I know how ill make my money grow... but the question really is, HOW WILL I GET MY FIRST MILLION?!
This is where my neurotic ideas come in... GAME SHOWS!!! Ive been a contestant of one game show before... Unfortunately I lost... According to the host it was karma... so I lost my chance on a hundred thousand peso pot money... Anyway, for those who are interested, it was The Weakest Link... it was on IBC 13 when it was still popular...
It may have been a sign for me to give up on the idea of joining game shows, but I guess it would be the easiest way for me to win a million... I mean, id like to believe that im a smart man... Some of my co-workers think so... There've been a couple of times that i was able to answer the million peso question on Game K N B?... But dont get me wrong, you will NEVER see me lined up to join Wowowee or Eat Bulaga... I still am earning money from my job... and I have a very decent job...
Anyway, that new Kris Aquino show seems easy enough... no mind numbing questions... I guess you just need to be extremely lucky to win the jackpot... Or, i could join Pinoy Big Brother... I am not that good-looking, and looks doesn't seem to be a requirement to have the viewer's votes... Although, i dont want to pour out my entire being to the rest of the country, or planet (depending if people have TFC)... And i've got this funny feeling that people may regard me as a villain, knowing my personality... Anyway, game shows, would be my best bet to getting to my first million... Which one? I honestly do not know...
So what would happen now? I guess you've got to tune in... I'm only on my 14th entry for the year... I still have another 80+ to finish til the end of 2006...

ENTRY 13: MY COMICS RIGHT NOW
I think by now you know that im such a fool for comic books... And i think that this is the second time that im writing about it... From the last time that i wrote about this topic, some of the titles already ended, and then there are a few new ones that started (or in my case, I started to follow)... Here's my updated comic books pull list...
CIVIL WAR: All the hype about this title was right... The Marvel super heroes are divided, so now it's brother against brother, friend versus friend.. Everyone in this universe is affected, and no one will come out of this war the same... Mark Millar and Steve McNiven are delivering the best work in their careers... And us comics fans are winning. I so love it.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: Ever since I read Deadly Genesis, I instantly became a fan of Ed Brubaker, so now, every title that he writes, I must read... And this is one of them... It doesn't feel like its padded, the story is already 18 issues long but still you won't feel like its decompressed... Its thrilling, the pacing is SO good, it hurts to turn a page knowing you're almost the end of an issue... Its like you dont want the story to end... Its THAT GOOD.
DAREDEVIL: Following one of the most critically acclaimed run in comics of Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev, Ed Brubaker (again!!!) continues the story of the Man Without Fear... This is one of the best noir stories i've read ever... I love that the story plays like the tv show Oz and Prison Break... its so suspenseful, yet you can't help but feel for the hero... Its a great title...
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: Im following most of the Civil War related titles, and as the story goes, this could be the title where Spider-man finally reveals to the entire world his true identity... the end of last issue was a total cliffhanger... Will he take off his mask? Is he truly with Ironman? What does Captain America think about this? Do I have enough money to buy all of these comic books?

ENTRY 12: WTF?!

ENTRY 11: I HAVE ACCESS AGAIN!!!
Im just excited... i finally dont have to go to kproxy to get to this site... so now i can update you regularly... i still am not able to do this on my station, but still, i can update my webjournal regularly again... i may be able to fulfill my goal of 100 journal entries by the end of the year...
Nothing new... im resting my manual journal for the next few days... i want my numbering and the date to be synchronized... on my journal, ive written more than 1300 entries already... thats still too few considering ive been writing on it for more than 4 years already... if you want to know about my life, that's the best thing to read... of course its more private so im able to put more things there than in here... like my sex life (a rarity if you ask me)... thoughts on people that i dont like (insults galore)... and stuff that are considered taboo... i love that journal... i put my goals there, and im able to accomplish... its a good thing having one, makes you remember where you need to be when you're treading the wrong path... id recommend you to do that if i were you...

ENTRY 10: THE SIGN
Im never going to fulfill one of my goals for this year... writing 100 blog entries by the end of the year. we're almost halfway this year and im only on my 10th entry. I would've been able to do this if I have an internet connection at work.... Hello!!! Stupid IT people doing their jobs right... Dang!
Anyway, Im here to talk about romance... I think I may have found THE ONE... unfortunately, it's just in my dreams... THE ONE came to two of my dreams... One was sexual, and then the other, romantic... i dont remember all of the details of both dreams and i dont even remember how this person looks like... but i know that when I meet THE ONE, sparkds will surely fly... Why wouldn't it... we're destined for each other!!! Now the only questions are: WHEN WILL THIS MEET HAPPEN? HOW?
Hopefully, ill be ready by the time that that happens...

ENTRY 9: FULL GEEK MODE
Some more geekiness for me this week... This time, im all about the video games... If im living in the United States, still in high school, and people find out about this, I probably would have had some major wedgies coming my way... Good thing here in the Philippines geeks are cool!!! I can buy all the comic books I want and still, i wont get beat up... Hey those things are very good investments... BUt im not here to talk about comicbooks... Its all about the video games....
Im not a ps2 addict... although i have one... i love RPG (that's role playing games for you non-addicts)... i dont have quick fingers so im not much into the whole shooting games... And I am a HUGE fan of the Resident Evil and Final Fantasy franchise... Oh yeah, Im buying Kingdom Hearts 2 tomorrow... And am eagerly awaiting for the release of the english version of Final Fantasy 12... Im also starting to save my money to buy either an XBox 360 or a PS3... Im on full geek mode today, so forgive me if im ranting about these things... Believe me, this does NOT make me a techie... Am still confused about the whole ipod thingies... maybe if someone buy me one, then id have an idea how to use it... hehehe... actually, 'til now 4 months with my k750i, and i haven't discovered the full potential of my phone... I may be a geek, but im not a dork...
My job's stressful, and i only have these to get me to relax... A movie's only helpful for like a couple of hours... Games get me going for more than that... And if i dont have a job, id be doing that for days non-stop... Hmmm....let me see, i dont have a new game now, and thats a good thing because i really dont want to go to work tonight.... Sigh!!!
Games that I suggest you try out...
RESIDENT EVIL 4: kick-ass graphics and all those cool im-playing-and-screaming-and-just-dropped-my-conroller moment... I recommend you play it in the dark... its creepy... scary... and so much fun to play...
FINAL FANTASY X: speaking of kickass graphics and cool gameplay... this game... perfection... 'nuff said!!!
SPLINTER CELL: Sam Fisher... the coolest guy in the world... Playing this game, makes you want to be a black ops operative too... the graphics (specially the lighting) is one of the best out there... Add the awesome awesome gameplay... If only i werent stuck in one of the stages in Korea, id still be playing it...
GRAND THEFT AUTO: Take your pick... if you're a sadist, id suggest you play this game... I love running people over with my car, and just am into wrecking havoc all over liberty city and san andreas... I didnt even know there were missions to this game... I just love running around the city with my chainsaw and rocket launcher...
GRAN TURISMO: I dont play this game to race... I just love to ogle at the picturesque scenery... THis is not about gaming... its all about aesthetics... Youve got thousands of cars to choose from (all of which looks real)... the best racing game in the market...
METAL GEAR SOLID: Solid Snake rocks!!! My first taste of the tactical espionage game, and I was blown away... its all about being covert... Too preachy at times... but its all good...

ENTRY 6: BEING MR RIGHT
Honestly, at my age, i hardly think of myself as Mr. Right... I could be that guy... just not at this point in time... Im more of a Mr. Right NOw... It's all about having fun... This is the time of my life where Im enjoying being single... Being straight to the point... I mean having casual encounters... Yeah, I believe in true love... i'd like to believe that all of us do... But if it's not right now, i would not deprive myself of the fun and cool experiences that these things bring to people... I know this will raise some eyebrows, but if you think of it, Im right in a way...
Im not writing this to justify my being active sexually... And just to make it clear, Im not very active when it comes to that... All im saying is that there is nothing wrong with being with other people while you haven't found the right one... There are a lot of people who go through a lot of boyfriends or girlfriends before they met the ONE... In this day and age, it's quite rare to find a couple who hasn't done IT at one point in time in their relationship... im like that... Honestly speaking, its good practice...
Now when you think you find the right one... And when you tell them about your past... If that person really loves you, then he or she will accept you whatever past you have... Of course you have to make it known that that person IS and WILL BE the LAST PERSON you will be with in your life... Give her the assurance that you will be loyal to that relationship, for as long as you are together...
My time to do that hasn't come yet... Eventually it will... But right this time... I will settle for being MR RIGHT NOW

ENTRY 5: THE NOTHING POST
Let's talk about nothing... and when i say nothing, I mean anything under the sun... Its really a miracle that i can post now from work... normally this site is blocked by our very competent IT people... Hopefully I wont get demoted because of this... Ive been barely a month as the campaign's back-up supervisor, and i dont want to give up on it right away... Oh by the way, I got promoted to this position about three weeks ago...
I went to Batangas over the weekend to celebrate 2 years of making annoying calls to Wolverine's kababayans... Can you imagine that... I lasted TWO years in one campaign... let alone one company... Well, this IS only my second job... And to think ive been ranting and bitching about leaving this company for over a year now... They've given me a reason to stay for at least a few more weeks or months...
So the Batangas trip... yeah, its given me some back pains from swimming without stretching first... but it was great fun... we did our little version of The Amazing Extra Challenge and Bring It On... yep, people got their money's worth on phones and digital cameras... I believe over a thousand pictures were taken that two days we were there...
It seems that there is SOMETHING that i can talk about right now... Huh, who'd have thought... I hope that this downtime with websense happens often...

ENTRY 4: MY BIRTHDAY
iM not going to let my birthday pass without writing any blog entries... yeah... im 24!!! and what a way to celebrate my birthday... i did nothing... I decided to rest on my birthday... it was a special day and i don't want to get stressed out because of work.. that would be the job of my co-coaches.. i dont want to be a jackass on my birthday, so i just have to get a well-deserved r&r...
There's one thing that I DID NOT expect to do on my birthday... I GOT OVER A STUPID INFATUATION!!! After almost a year of pining, drooling, and daydreaming... I already got over it... No more... I realized that i mean nothing to that person, and she does not deserve my attention... So now, i will have NONE OF THAT...
Good thing though is that I was able to celebrate my birthday with some of my close friends and really delicious food... Oh im never going to lose weight because of this... Its so sad...

ENTRY 3: THE COMIC GEEK
One of my more luxurious hobbies of course is collecting comic books... Since I was a kid, i've always loved reading comic books... I remember my first comic book was Xmen 3 if im not mistaken it was the first appearance of Omega Red... although im not sure about the number, but its his first appearance... Anyway, right now im collecting about 10 books this month... just want to tell you about it.
ASTONISHING X-MEN this one is written by the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer... I love the comedy, the intrigue, the action... its one of the brilliant titles ive read (at least the first 12 issues)... the team is back and thats what Im looking forward to be reading in a couple of weeks.
INCREDIBLE HULK its Planet Hulk... Marvel is doing a lot of hype around this title, and I read a lot of good reviews when issue 92 came out... so i picked up a copy so now im hooked... It reads like the movie Gladiator with Russel Crowe (and Im such a huge fan of that film)... I cant help it, I want to know how the jade giant will eventually kick ass when he comes back to planet earth
NEW AVENGERS Brian Michael Bendis may have a lot of haters in the comic community, but i love his work... it may seem decompressed at times but the stories are well worth it... he writes funny and effective lines which will either make you laugh or make you think... I love this title mainly because of Spider-woman. SHe is smoking HOT!!! drool alert.. but this title is nice...
INFINITE CRISIS I only read 2 titles from DC, and this is one of them... I got hooked with the company when I first read Identity Crisis a couple of years ago. Thats when I realized that this company knows how to write events comics... They make my wallet lighter, but the thing is, when you read Geoff Johns' lines, you'll feel that its all worth it.
JUSTICE the other DC title that i read... Its a mini series, but it comes out every other month. That is why I like it.. it lessens the burden of me buying a lot of titles every month. The story is intriguing, and the paintings are beautiful. Its about the Justice League and the Legion of Doom. An updated version of that one, but you know that someone will really get hurt this time.
ULTIMATES 2 Mark Millar's version of The Avengers in a different universe... It politically charged, but the action is really one of the most kick-ass titles that come out every other month. Its one hell of a roller coaster ride that does not seem to end... Its 3 issues away from ending, but all the intrigue, action and everything won't seem to slow down. Easily one of the best titles Im reading these days... Plus the art is so detailed, it doesn't look like a comic book. Its like you're watching a big budget summer movie.
XMEN DEADLY GENESIS This is the first time I read a title by Ed Brubaker... Its somewhat intriguing, and its a mini-series.. I like how he handles the characters (too bad one of my favorite mutants died)... The ending's been spoiled to me already, but I want to see where it goes...
SON OF M is about Quicksilver, the son of Magneto.. It seems that he was the one responsible in turning the whole world upside down during the HOuse of M miniseries... this title follows what happened after his sister stripped a lot of mutants, including him, of their powers... This series hints that he's going to be one of the main villainous players in the Marvel Universe, so Im following this til the end... yep, Pietro's an asshole!!! And Im loving it...
XMEN THE 198... err, i dont really know what the story is about... but it seems that this one follows the rest of the mutants who didnt lose their powers after the HOuse of M... They're using the X mansion as their refuge... but when you've got a place where all kinds of personalities come together, it seems that something not good will come out of it... I dont know what it is yet, but Im very interested to find out...
So thats my pull list as of this month...

ENTRY 1: THE YEAR I LEARNED TO READ
It took me 22 days to write my first journal entry for the year... I don't want to put this on my was-not-able-to-do-this-year list... I might need a miracle, but i'll make sure that 2006 will see a hundred blog entries from your friendly neighborhood gillboard...
I've been on a book streak this month... Three books read since the year started... And they were really good too... One was from an author who I've avoided and detested ever since I learned to read fiction.
Week 1: Pattern Recognition by William Gibson
It's about a trend spotter who's job is to find out the origin of an online video that's having a cult following all over the cyberworld... It's like a spy story without the thrilling action and all the intrigue... it's a good book if you're into industrial espionage... Not really my cup of tea, but still did enjoy the story...
Week 2: Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz
The day that Jimmy was born, it was predicted that he will go through five horrendous days in his life... I am not a fan of Dean Koontz, nor am I familiar with his works, this is the first book he wrote that I read, and I was not disappointed... It's funny, there are times that I can't put the book down, even if I really needed to go to the toilet, there are also times that the story seems to go nowhere, but still in the end I got enchanted...
Week 3: The Broker by John Grisham
I don't know why I avoided reading books from this author... I am interested in all things law (although I've no plans of being a lawyer)... But I'm scared of reading his titles... Maybe it's because when i first read his book I was too young to understand the deep things that he was talking about... This was his first foray to spy stories, and to tell you the truth, he reintroduced me to insomnia... I finished half of his book in one sitting... I only slept two hours last Tuesday because of him...
Week 4: Absolute Friends by John Le Carre
Im halfway through this book so I cant really tell you too much about this book... I've been reading this for more than a month now... This week, Im planning on finishing this, before I move on to another title.

- wag maging suplado... SMILE at least 100 times in a day...
- lose 10 pounds this year... current weight 155 lbs.
- paabutin ng 400 ang friends ko sa friendster
- kailangan lahat yun eh kakilala ko... as in LAHAT
- be seen on tv again (probably join a games show 'game na ako!")
- be heard on the radio (basta wag lang sa station ni kukurukuku!!!)

REJUVENATED
Ive been trying very hard to update my blog these past few days... if you only knew how many intos ive written since my last blog... anyway, i think im a bit rejuvinated right now... none of the writer's block ive been having these last few weeks... Hopefully!!!
Got the hang of my new phone... after one week, i think ive overloaded its memory already... no more space for pictures and mp3's... i think excitement over the phone is a bit of an understatement...hehehe... i still haven't learned how to put those cute little smiley faces on my blogs... if i have time, i might post some of our pictures here on my next blog...
Anyway, it's three more days before Christmas... Im actually forced now to buy gifts for some of my peers because they've given me presents already (some are planning wink wink)... being the typical guy, i really have NO idea what to give them back... can i just give them a hug and a kiss?! Yeah, and i think i need to buy my boss something nice too, given that most of my colleagues bought something special for her... this is where having a girlfriend comes in handy...

FRUIT OF LABOR

Aah the eagerly anticipated 13th month pay... its about goddarn time we got it... I work my ass off the entire year incurring only a few absences (but a lot of leaves... well deserved if you knew what i do here in the office) and i think its about time i get all those blood sweat and tears' worth...
I guess i was one of the happiest little construction worker yesterday when i finally received my salary... three times what im getting on a biweekly basis... THANK GOD!!! So now the question is... what do i do with all this money?!
The most sensible answer would be buy my godchildren, friends and family gifts for the season... Yeah right!!! Im a selfish SOB and i believe i deserve something good for myself this Christmas... So what i did is i bought myself a new cellphone... an ERICSSON K750i... Quite pricey but i do believe is worth every penny (do we have it in this coutry?! pennies?!)...
i have a new baby!!! And i think its about time...

AFTER 2 WEEKS
I have this bad case of writer's block going on these days... i haven't been writing down here because i just don't know what to write... its stupid really but my mind's just blank... BLANK!!!
While i was gone, i was eavesdropping on other people's lives (reading other blogs)... I've been heavily considering copying and pasting other people's entries and put them all here... but of course i don't have the balls to do that... i know im giving other people ideas here... hehehe (i never got to learn adding those darn smileys)...
Anyway, as usual im at work right now as i always am when i do my blogging... i don't get to do this at home... im giving away freebies tonight... bubble radio, teddy bear, cd cases and calculators... its Christmas, what can i say... Ive decided not to be a grinch this season in the hopes of receiving my wish this year...
I'd better shut my mouth about wishes... from personal experience, once i mentioned what i wanted, it usually does not come true... Oh well...
