GAME BOY

I notice lately my posts have been geared towards my female readers, so now I'm going to cater to my other readers. I'll write about games!!!

I have an XBox 360, and if I have time to go up to my entertainment room, I play a lot of games. I don't get to play a lot these days as I'm mostly occupied by this other computer. But later, I'll play again. I like playing as I'm enjoying everything, specially because I have a kick-ass sound system. But it's really tiresome to go to the 3rd floor and set up everything. Although the console I have won't let me log in online, that's fine. I still enjoy playing by myself.

So anyway, I'll list down some of the games that keeps me occupied every other evening or afternoon. I don't have a lot of titles in my library because games are expensive.

GEARS OF WAR: The first game that I got addicted to when I first got my console. It took me one whole day to play the game. You play Marcus Fenix, and you and your men have to go through the game to kill Locusts (alien beings that apparently took over our world). It's an action game, and fills my Resident Evil cravings. I love this game. Great graphics, and cool cutscenes. I love how the next gen consoles have improved everything about gaming. It's great to be played with your speakers on full volume. It's the type of noise that'll get you reported to the barangay, but it's worth it!!!

ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION: The first RPG game I got for this console, and this one like the first on the list, is addictive. THe world of Oblivion is huge and you can actually explore the whole place. It's so cool. The story is quite engaging, and you have tons and tons of sidequests. Actually, I've played the game mostly trying to finish the sidequests than the main story itself. I'm trying to make my character stronger, and am trying to improve my magics. Just thinking about it, I actually don't remember what this game is about. But it's fine. I still love this game.

Before anything else, I just want to let you know, I'm not going to comment on the graphics anymore as all games that I'll be listing here all have great graphics.

MASS EFFECT: Another RPG, but this one I like better. It's like Oblivion, only you're in outer space and you're using guns instead of swords. This one is another huge game. You play Commander Shepherd, and you have to stop some alien bad ass from conquering the entire galaxy. I like that I can create my own character, and I get to see him/her during the cutscenes. There are a handful of galaxies and star systems you can visit and explore, and a lot of quests you have to finish. One more thing I like about this game is that you can choose what kind of person you're going to be and you can choose what you can reply to people and it changes the outcome of your story.

LOST ODYSSEY: Japanese turn-based RPG is a rarity in this console, so I take what I can. And this game is a good one. I'm almost finished with this game, I'm just exploring the world, so that I can empower my characters. There are tons of things to do with all of my characters so that when I finally face the final boss, it would be a breeze, but sometimes fighting the same enemies could be tedious. These sort of games need patient players. Fortunately I tolerate these kinds of games. Been into this one since the Final Fantasy 7 days.

BIOSHOCK: This is the game I'm currently playing. It's a First Person Shooter set in a subterranean city under I believe the Atlantic Ocean. It's sort of creepy in a Silent Hill manner, but it's very engaging. I like my powers, I like that I can pummel my enemies using a wrench. It's just a bummer that the enemies get stronger as you progress in the game. A great game to play with full volume speakers and lights switched off (although I don't recommend this as I believe it's not good for the eyes).

HALO 3: I don't know any XBox 360 owner who doesn't have this game. The last part of the Halo Trilogy about Master Chief's fight to save Earth from the swarm of invading aliens. This is actually the first game I finished. Gears of War has a very difficult Final Boss Raam. I'm not into FPS games, but this game got me into it. This is the reason I'm also enjoying Bioshock right now. This is a great game. Not necessarily the best, but a vast improvement compared to all the games that I've played in the past.

MR. SENSITIVITY

For a guy, I tend to shed tears quite easily. No, I'm not a cry baby, but I actually get touched by nice and tender moments on film, tv, music or literature. This entry will list down the things that made me whimper a little.

DAWSON'S CREEK: Not the entire show of course, but one particular episode. I think it's the first season finale of the show when Michelle William's grandfather died. It was the scene inside a chapel after gramps died, her grandmother was trying to be strong, and that's when she finally broke down. It was emotionally heartbreaking, losing your partner. That particular episode's highlight I believe, it's a powerful scene.

THE STORY OF US: I did not come from a broken family, but I really feel for this movie. It's sort of a chick flick, but not the type that you'd be embarassed if you're caught watching it. No, I take it back... it is that type of film. Anyway, the movie is about how a married couple's relationship is about to reach the end. The part that affected me in this film was actually the end part. It's the one I think in the end where they finally decide that they want to... they need to try again. It's touching.

SHALL WE DANCE: This one, shamefully is a certified chick flick, but this is my guilty pleasure. Actually, this was the film that made me want to write this topic. It's actually the song "Book Of Love" by Peter Gabriel that affected my tearducts. The touching part was towards the end where Richard Gere came to Susan Sarandon's work to ask her to dance with him. Awww!!!

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS: ***SPOILERS*** If you haven't read the book (it's been almost a year, are you living under a rock?!) and don't want to be spoiled then read another blog... the part where Hedwig and the servant elf (the name escaped me).

GREY'S ANATOMY: It's sort of a comedy but there are epiosodes that just push the right buttons. The episode where the Cristina was left on her wedding day, also the death of Izzy's lover. Mostly when someone dies... It's sort of morbid, but it's me.

Again, let me say I'm not a crybaby. But there are some things that easily make me feel for people. Heck, some contestants of Wowowee make me wet my eyes. I don't think it's pathetic, I actually should've put this as one of the reasons why I could be a good boyfriend. I think it's actually sweet. I mean for my female readers how many guys do you know would admit to being easily emotional on stuff like this, right?

Does this make me weird? Maybe. But I'd rather be weird than have an emotional capacity of a teaspoon (I borrowed that line from Hermione).

MY WEEKLY PURCHASE: 4/17

I will try to do this weekly thing from now on, writing reviews of the choice comics I purchase every Thursday. It's not a lot as I'm a Marvel Zombie, so I only buy Marvel comics. Sorry, but I can't really understand the whole continuity thing of the DC Universe. This week, I bought 4 titles with one that came out last week. First up is...

WOLVERINE 64: Part 3 of the 'Get Mystique' storyline, and this seems like the climax of the story. Mystique's been able to escape Logan's grasp because she's - you know - a very crafty beyotch. While back in the past, things go wrong when Logan, Raven and her bunch of grifters try to rob a bank. How does these 2 stories connect? It doesn't really. Just shows us the dark and bitter history between Logan and Raven. I love this story arc, and Mystique's starting to be my favorite villain of all time. I like how she uses her powers to manipulate people so Logan will have a hard time catching her.
The art is by Ron Garney which perfectly compliments the great story by Jason Aaron. I can't believe the art is by the same person who drew AMazing Spider-man last year. I can't compare both works as it's really different... in a very positive way. I love the crispy fried Wolverine in one of the scenes of this issue.
Looks like Wolverine will have his chance next issue, but looking at all the artillery Mystique has in her arsenal... boy a grudge match is going to be an understatement!!!

SCORE: 8/10

X-FACTOR 30: Part 2 of 'The Only Game in Town'. It's a good story, but lacks the humor that it is known for. The plotlines of Layla and Siryn both have been put in the sideline for Arcade's torture game. I really want to like this issue, but something's pulling me away. I can't put my finger to it. I can't even bring myself to want to read this issue again which isn't normal for this title. Peter David please give me a reason to keep this title.
This issue, Arcade's plan is already put in motion and we find out who hired him to target X-Factor or Rictor specifically. And Mutant Town is put in very grave danger. I can't even tell the story properly. I'm confused.
The art is by Valentine De Landro, and it's pretty much consistent with the other artists. Maybe it's the art that I'm having problems with. I mean while they look similar, it's really different from Paulo Raimondi's which in my opinion is spectacular. It could be... Anyway, it doesn't look good. Hopefully, next month will improve story and artwise.
The confusion this story's giving me is disappointing.

SCORE: 6/10

INCREDIBLE HERCULES 116: A new storyline starts this week and is the prologue to the tie-in to this year's event Secret Invasion. This is practically the 5th issue of Hercules' title and I'm really warming up to it. Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente transformed this title into one of the most fun comic that ever been released. I love it. This is one title that I did not expect to enjoy.
Amadeus, Herc and his sister Athena goes to San Francisco to prepare for an impending invasion and crosses path with another set of gods called the Eternals. You see Ikaris Thena and Makkari thought that Herc is one of their missing brother, and this leads to something we all expected. A brawl!!!
The art is by Rafa Sandoval, while not on par with the previous artist can actually hold it's own. I like that Marvel, when they're changing artists makes sure that it's not radically different from the previous one. It's actually good. You're not going to hear anything bad from me with the art. It's great.
The ending for this issue is good. I don't want to spoil anything with this one, but let me tell you the characters Athena gathered in the end to fight the incoming invaders made me drool. It' so cool, that I hate that I have to wait one more month to find out what's going to happen next.

SCORE: 9/10

PICK OF THE WEEK:
CAPTAIN AMERICA 37: Is there any title that's better than this? I've read Ed Brubaker's entire run of this title and I hate that a comic book like this is issued only once a month. It should be released weekly, if not daily. God, it's so intense that even if this issue doesn't have any action in it you still find yourself at the edge of your seat.
Red Skull, Bucky Barnes, Tony Stark, Sharon Carter, guest star Hawkeye even minor characters like Doctor Faustus and Senator Gordon Wright all give weight into this amazing title. This title is what you get when you combine tv shows like 24, Prison Break, The Unit, Alias and whatever cool spy show together. It's really that good. I can't recommend this enough. I actually have a feeling that this title whenever it comes out will be easy to review. I'll just have to cut and paste every good thing that I write every week.
The art is also great. Whether it's this month's artist Steve Epting or Mike Perkins or Butch Guice, you'll have a hard time spotting the difference. It could be the colorist Frank D'Armatta's fault, but it's not a bad thing. The consistency is great.
The ending of this story bodes something dark in the future for all the characters involved in this title. And I can't wait for that to happen. Bravo Mr. Brubaker! Bravo!!!

WHY I'LL MAKE A GOOD BOYFRIEND

Do not get me wrong, this is not a plea for me to be in a relationship. These things, for it to work out, takes time. It's just I was thinking the other day, I'm a nice guy. I should be, if given a chance, a good boyfriend. While I may not be that gifted in the looks department (konti lang...), I have other things going for me.

No, I haven't been dumped recently. I actually haven't had time to pursue a lovelife lately. But being single for almost a year now gets me thinking. WHat makes me a good boyfriend?

  • I'm smart. That means that I can carry an intelligent conversation. While I'm not interested in politics, religion, economy or current events. I make sure, that I know what I'm talking about. And hey, I may let you win debates or conversations from time to time.
  • I know and understand that you need some alone time yourself. If you want to have time to hang out with your friends. No questions asked, I'll let you.
  • I'm not needy, clingy or will be dependent on you. I myself hate parasites, and I'm not like that. I respect your space, and will only come in if you let me.
  • I am not demanding. Nuff said.
  • I guess it doesn't hurt that I'm a good kisser.
  • Oh yeah, and I have great friends that are not a bad influence on me.
  • I am spontaneous and I don't back out on adventures. I guess that's nice for making great dates.
  • In a weird way, parents like me. i guess it's the good boy image that I show off. Even if it's just an image.
  • I have sense of humor.

Like I said earlier, I'm not writing this so that I could be someone's boyfriend. It's cool being single. But I don't find anything wrong in being in a relationship as well. This is just me thinking out loud.

CONVERSATIONS WITH MUM

So I was watching television with my mum last night, and on ABS-CBN, they showed this teaser for the show XXX. It was about I think a maid being maltreated by her employers. Apparently, she was forced to wed or have sex with a dog. I'm not really sure as I didn't see the show.

Mum: Ano yun, nabuntis ba? (Did she get pregnat?)
Me: Huwaaaat?!
Mum: Pinaasawa sa aso di ba, nagbuntis ba? (She was forced to marry the dog right, did she get pregnant?)
Me: ?! (speechless)

WHat can I say, really?

MY THOUGHTS ON AMERICAN IDOL

I'm not an avid fan of the show anymore. My taste in television shows vary now compared to like 4 or 5 years ago. Actually, the only reason I was watching this show this season is of course because of Filipino pride. But she was voted off one week ago. I'm not going to blame anyone as she really hasn't been performing greatly after the first week.

For Ramielle, I really think the best performance she's made was during Hollywood week. AFter that, I've been constantly disappointed with her choice of songs and mostly her performance. But she's already voted out so enough about that.

This week, it's goodbye to Michael Johns. The Aussie singer who in my opinion is one of the better singers in the competition. Oh well, one more reason to not watch idol anymore. I didn't catch the performance episode the other night, but judging from today's episode, it was one of his stronger performance. I only saw his farewell performance, so it could sound more different from the other day. But I loved the song. I can't believe that Kristy Lee is still in the frickin' show!!!

So I'll run down the Top 7 of the show:

David Cook: My favorite performer this season. Could be the runaway winner if he keeps his performance as is. I loved his version of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello". I like the emo vibe he's bringing to the show as well as the rockstar appeal. If I can make a vote, this singer would be it. Makes me miss the other singing show "Rockstar..."

Syesha Mercado: The only black contestant on the show. But that's ok. I think black singers sound the same... I wish her luck though. I don't think she'll stay longer than two weeks in this competition.

David Archuleta: If you put this kid in a talent competition here in the Philippines, I don't think he will last more than a week. I really don't find his singing talent as amazing as the judges do. He can sing, that I won't contest, but is it amazing? I don't think so. I guess he's lucky cuz he's cute like Puss in Boots. Makes you want to torture that little Shrek sidekick. Awww...

Carly Smithson: I think she's smug. I don't think she sounds as good as she believes. I don't know, I just don't like her. I don't even want to talk about her. Nuff said.

Kristy Lee Cook: For the life of me, I cannot believe she still is in this competition. My theory is, if there's another country singer in the top 12, she wouldn't be here anymore. Is country even that big in the States that Kristy Lee outnumbered Ramielle and Michael and even Chikizie in votes. I want her out by next week, but judging by the way votes are going, I'd say if she makes a good performance or good song choice next week, she'd make it to top 5. The thought actually tortures me... I don't hate her though. She's just very lucky.

Jason Castro: I wonder, if he doesn't look like Piolo Pascual, would he still be in this show. By God, I can sing better than this guy. They're saying that this is the best top 12 ever in the history of AI, but they say that every year. I don't know how he survived longer than everyone else who's been voted off. God, he's the worst of this group.

Brooke White: She's nice. I hope she makes it through atleast the top 3. I like her. But she's sort of hit and miss for me. I really loved her version of Every Breath You Take. But hated her other Beatles song. I forgot the title. I hope Americans love her. She could be a good winner. Not like Kristy Lee or Carly. I just hate those other two girls.

I can't believe I wrote an entry about American Idol (more importantly that I know who the top 7 idols are.... pathetic)... I think I finally ran out of things to write in this blog. I'm so bored!!! People help me find something to do!!!

I TOUCH MYSELF

Kalokohan!!! I have no idea but why is this song in my head?! Di ko nga alam kung saan ko napakinggan itong kantang ito, pero nagpapatugtog siya sa ulo ko!!!

"I don't want anybody else
when I think about you
I touch myself"

Waaah!!! Ayaw siyang mawala... Kelangan ko na sigurong tumigil kaka touch myself!!!

**********

Ampotah!!! Ang INIT!!! Kelangan ko tuloy ngayon maglock ng kwarto pag natutulog dahil ngayon eh medyo semi-nude ako matulog. (Wag niyo iimagine masyado... baka bumaligtad bituka niyo). ANg point ko eh sobrang mainit ngayon... Lalo na pag tanghali... Siomai!!! Para kang nasa loob ng oven...

Ngayon tuloy kelangan ko nang maligo araw-araw!!!

Nanay!!! Wala nanamang tubig!!!

**********

I was in MOA yesterday... Nanuod ng "Shutter" tapos nanuod magbati ang magsyotang kaibigan ko.

Hay naku!!! Mga nagtatampururot... Sana may syota tuloy ako... para kunyari magtatampo ako... tapos pag nagbati kami... i'll stop touching myself...

**********

Muntik nga palang nawala phone ko kagabi... Akala ko talaga katapusan na ng walkman phone ko!!!
Nahirapan akong makahinga kagabi...

May pagka KSP ata ako.

Thank you pala sa lahat ng bumibisita at nag-iiwan ng comments sa blog ko. Keep it coming.

ORIGIN OF GILLBOARD PART 2: HOW HE CAME TO HATE MATH

High school was a very difficult time for Gillboard. He's never good with numbers. Most of the subjects he had dealt with the devil's creation. He never found any good use for it. The only time he appreciated it was with his previous job where he'd use imaginary numbers as amounts his customers will save if they buy what he was selling.

His distaste for numbers started when he was still in the second grade. He was a top ten student during his first grade, but sort of bumbled during his second. He was too much into playing trading cards (those Marvel superhero ones). One day he came home with the results of his Math test and showed it to his mum.

12/50. That was his grade for the addition test. His mum got so furious that she burned all of his trading cards. The same cards that he won from all his neighbors and classmates. He had like "4 na dangkal" of those cards turned into ash. From that moment on he swore Math out of his life...

And so the dark times of his life begun...

To be continued...

SECRET INVASION 1: THE REVIEW (SPOILERS)

I am the type of person who likes to read spoilers, and last night I've been all over the net looking for early reviews of what happened to Marvel's event of 2008... SECRET INVASION.

There have been alot of mixed reviews about the first issue of this series, and it actually makes me wonder why. The kick off issues of the last two events were actually critically successful, but this one... not so much. But nonetheless, I am coming in to this series really excited about what will happen.

Now I truly understand why there are haters. Not that the story was terrible, because for me it's not. It's actually awesome. But if you come in to this series really with no previous knowledge of what's been happening in the Marvel Universe the last year and a half, this series will have no weight... no bearing. Simply because you wouldn't really know what's going on. In fact, I think that the people who will truly enjoy this series would be those who've been following Bendis' work for the last few years. This is as they say the payoff for our patience.

This is the start of the next phase of the Skrull's plans of invading our planet (hence the Invasion in the title). And it does start with a bang!!! A really big bang!!! A lot of players are being revealed as Skrulls, and in this issue there were about 3 major reveals. Dum Dum Dugan who destroyed the SWORD space station, Jarvis who planted a very destructive virus that caused extensive damage to Marvel Universe's most famous landmarks and Henry Pym who let's just say made a mess out of Mr. Fantastic.

Comparing this with Bendis' other event title House of M, he did improve a lot in terms of pacing and storytelling. And everything is really more interesting now, more questions are being asked. Who else is a Skrull? How can they be stopped? What now?

The book has three cliffhangers in it and all are relatively interesting and exciting. There's one that I'm sure will raise alot of eyebrows (this probably is where newbies will be lost as well). It is, in true Marvel tradition going to be another huge event and I'm in it for the whole run (no plans though of getting all the tie-ins). It may even be as big or even bigger than the Civil War event. Hopefully, the strength of this series will be consistent all throughout.

I saved this for last as I am a proud Filipino, Leinil Francis Yu, the artist for this event is AMAZING!!! It's detailed, the expressions are great and the panel with Hank Pym and Mr. Fantastic that I told you earlier about is very disturbing (in a positive art critique way). It certainly helps with the inks of Mark Morales (can anyone tell me if he's Filipino as well?) and the colors of Laura Martin. Yu should be recognized here in the Philippines as he's putting our country in the map as well by being in this project alone. His work here hopefully will put his name along side other great artists like Jim Lee or Steve McNiven or John Romita Jr.

Call me bias, but this is a good start if only because I've been reading this story from it's inception during Avengers Disassembled, New Avengers 1 and Secret War. Can't wait for Nick Fury to show up and kick Skrully ass!!!

Rating: 8.5/10

THE ORIGIN OF GILLBOARD

Just before you speculate, I'll let you know right away... no I did not get bitten by a genetically enhanced dung beetle nor am I a billionaire whose parents got shot by a pellet gun when I was a teenager. I also did not overdose on glue and paste. My origin is actually simple. Boring even. I'm like this because (don't hold your breath)... I'm an only child.

Do I have any special qualities? Yeah, I can be very very VERY sarcastic. Where did I get that from... Probably from being a frustrated comedian... I am not funny at all. I may actually border on being bitter.

So let's start from the very beginning. As a pre-schooler, I was an achiever. Always second in class (that may be due to school politics... you know how that goes). I always thought that I was really smart. I had a love interest already at an early age. Puppy love and the whole nine yards. I lost touch with the girl as I was shipped to an all boy's school.

Getting through my childhood may have been difficult as I found out that there are a lot more boys smarter than I was. I got addicted to playing trading cards. And slowly my little brain got more and more into playing than to studying. And I held on to the best class by the skin of my teeth.

College was easier for me, as I found out that I could be smart again. But I may have adapted another personality... nerdy me. Soon, I became the person who took down notes in class, and slowly rose to be one of the smarter students. I did not want that to happen... I'm not a nerd!!! I started skipping classes for movies and to watch anime. I rebelled, but I guess my brain wanted to unleash what it wasn't able to during my primary and high school days... I became (gasp!) a Dean's Lister!!!

WHY I MISS FREE THURSDAYS

I've never been a religious person. I don't go to mass on Sundays, I only pray when I need something good to happen in my life. I've read only the first few verses of the Bible. And the closest I have to going to church is when I'm watching The Passion of The Christ. And I graduated from a Catholic School. Yep, all the
moms of those who I've ever dated can now crucify me.

But there's one thing that I do that makes me seem like I'm a real Christian, and knowing all my faults, will be devoted to until I am old... going to St. Jude. My devotion with the Saint of the Hopeless started back when I was in college. Not that I was a dumb student back then, BECAUSE I WASN'T. But I wasn't really that confident. And going there actually helped me achieve what I wanted back then. And it still does until now (except for my search for a love life of course). It's my modern day miracle, that's why I never forgot to stop going to that little parish beside
Malacañan (this is the correct spelling, ok).

(This is St. Jude by the way, the picture up there is actually the chapel in San Beda)

I also like going there, because I get to go back to my old alma mater.
ONe thing that I haven't
done with my high school.

And it's cool to see how much has changed since you last visited. I mean everything from the completed LRT2 to all the fast food restos that opened. Back in college, the opeining of McDonald's was like a huge thing. Now you have Jollibee, Greenwich, KFC and Chowking all serving our favorites.

Going back to St. Jude, I may not be this religious, but like I said I don't think my devotion to it will stop. I may not go there regularly, but I still go there. And I still have faith. And until I find THE ONE, I guess I'll be frequenting the parish. Not that I'll stop after I find that person. I mean, once I do, I'll be really devoting my time to Them people up there.

HOW FRICKIN' COOL IS THIS?

Snake Eyes baby!!! How frickin' cool is this. GI Joe may not be airing this year, but damn!
I'm so looking forward to this. Can't wait to see pictures of his nemesis Storm Shadow. That would be cool as well!!!

PINOY BIG BROTHER TEEN EDITION: EARLY THOUGHTS

So I was watching Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 2 last night with my family, and I tell you that it is one hilarious episode. Not that this is really a big deal, but one of the housemates is still uncut. Would you fancy a guess as to who this housemate is? YOu only actually have 2 options, really as there are only 2 Eurasians on the show. I actually won't be surprised if both housemates turn out to still have their foreskins attached to their peepees. But the person who outed himself on national television is Alex, the Italian housemate.

Like I said, normally if this is a foreign show, it wouldn't really be a big deal. But this is a Filipino show, and here if you're over the age of 12 and you're still uncut... it's social suicide. I bet if he's still in the show after the first month, he'll be circumcised inside the house. That is not unlikely. Probably as a challenge for some kind of charity or for his family. That would indeed be interesting. This is PBB by the way. The show that will make you do anything for the ratings.

But anyway, back to the show. I'm normally not a huge fan of the show (stopped being interested after the first celebrity edition of the show). But I try to watch it if I get the chance. I really didn't like with the first Teen edition that they forced Kim with Gerald, when it was clear that Mikee (the Atenean, I'm not sure if that's his name) was the one who really liked the girl. It's probably because Gerald was the better looking one. Anyway, lost interest then and after that I just ignored the show.

It really didn't help that they put almost all of the good looking people there as well. IT's like a different version of the defunct Star Circle Quest. Actually I think it is just a rebranded Star Circle Quest. I mean almost all of the housemates are now in showbiz in one way or another. And honestly, if you ask these people why they wanted to join the show, they'll say that it's because they want to enter showbusiness. And I think this teen edition is really where they try to find the next matinee idol or the next leading lady. Judging by this year's contestants, and how loud most of the girls are... Good Luck!!!

And one more thing that irks me... the Atenean and the LaSallite trying to prove to their housemates that they've been best friends for years. They actually look less of that when they're trying to rub it in. They actually look like a couple... you know boyfriends who're still not yet out of the closet. I'm sure all gay people would like that. Ha!

5 FUN FACTS ABOUT GILLBOARD

NOpe I haven't been tagged on YouTube. But I liked the idea and I want to do it in my blog. I mean this blog is mine and I can do anything with it, right? So here we go 5 fun facts about me. I can't show my talent, but I'll try to make it graphic for your indulgence. You just have to use your imagination.

FUN FACT 1:

I have about 15 xbox 360 games in my library, but to date, I've only finished 1 game. Halo 3. The reason? I think I have adult ADHD. I have short attention span with games. I love playing RPG's but damn, once it all gets repetitive (or impossible to finish), the game's done. And rpg's tend to be repetitive. I think it's me. I really do. BUt I try to finish them all. Hey, it might not be me at all. Damn game publishers.

FUN FACT 2:

97. That's the highest score I got on our Magic Sing. My dad perfected "Let It Be Me" (and that's because that's the only song he sings). What's the song? "Goodnight Girl" by WEtWetWet. You think that having videoke at home will get you to practice singing more. Well I don't. I guess the only times I sing are days when me and my friends go karaoke somewhere. But that's very rare. And I don't really sing in the bathroom. Every time I do it, I feel something eerie. Like someone's scaring me so I'd stop. -shiver-

FUN FACT 3:

Everytime there is a full moon, I become more goofy. I really don't know why, but it's true. At work, I become noisier and more of a jackass whenever the moon is a perfect circle. Do I have like a werewolf syndrome? I mean I think I already am considering all the hair on my body. But am I like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Makes you wonder. Maybe I'm a schizo. Hmmm... Regardless, better a schizo than a klepto right?

FUN FACT 4:

This one you already know, I'm addicted to comicbooks. I can let go of everything in my life except comic books. Right now, to cut down on expenses, I am cancelling my phone plan and our cable subscription, but I'm not cutting down on my pull list. I think right now, I'm even adding some titles to my ever growing list. I guess what I'm thinking is that since I won't be paying for those two things anymore, I'll have more to spend on comic books.

FUN FACT 5:

I've been on television before. No! Not on those tabloid news every 6:30pm. I am not a wanted person. I joined a gameshow. ANd not that crappy Whammy show. Back when The Weakest Link was still popular, I was a contestant there. The other people considered me a strong competition that's why I was booted off on the 4th round, but I'm cool with it.

OTher facts about me: Back then my room was like a public library and my house could've been an outlet of Video City. Visitors would just come to my house and borrow some books or vcd's and not return them. That sucks. I could have like 200 books already. To those who haven't returned my books or vcds... you know who you are!!! I'm watching you.

HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I CAN COOK?

NOt a lot, and I'm not perfect at it, but I can do some domestic responsibilities too. Mind you I can cook a meal, and not just fry hotdogs or corned beef or noodles or that kind of crap.

I've cooked spaghetti, caldereta, mechado, I've cooked adobo (not that perfect, but still okay), I can make burger steak (making my own patties by the way). That and I can make a mean mango float (that is not cooked by the way). OH yeah, and I really make very good pancakes. And at one point in time, I could cook up some special puto (I just don't remember how to do it now).

I relearned this ability late last year during my jobless days. I bought a cookbook and tried every dish there that isn't complicated. I wish I have an oven to cook pasta. I would really love to learn how to cook lasagna. At least so that I won't have to buy from Sbarro or something like that anymore. But I really am good. I want to let you know that.

Why am I all of a sudden writing about this? I don't know. I guess I was inspired by the marathon of Hell's Kitchen yesterday. Don't get me wrong, that show absolutely made me change my mind about working in the restaurant business. I just don't see myself being screamed at by another person on a regular basis. OH yeah, that's what I've been doing the last 5 years.

Hopefully, I'll have enough time now to cook good food again, and learn some more.

MY GOOD DEED FOR THE WEEK

I know I shouldn't be bragging about making a good deed. It's better to be quiet about it, making the deed more sincere. But I can't help it. I feel good inside knowing that I made something unexpected of me.

I've been scoring points with the devil the past few weeks, and I feel that I should be making some for my the other side as well.

As for the deed itself, I was in a fast food chain earlier, and I was in front of this old lady who ordered something, don't really know. Thing is, it seems that she doesn't have enough money to pay for what she ordered. So I paid for what she was still lacking.

I believe in good karma, that's why I did it. Cuz I'm pretty familiar about bad karma. Yep, very familiar with that one.

ON BEING A GODFATHER

Yesterday I was in Quezon City for the entire day due to some special reasons. The first one is our quarterly gathering with my very good friends/ second family from my previous job. This little gathering, I'll give some details and probably add pictures on my next post. And the second reason is to attend the christening of my college friend's son.

Brian was my classmate in college and was a good friend of mine. Although I never really heard much of him after graduation, I guess I made it a point to not lose communication with him like with most of my friends back then. A few months or was that a year ago, he got married to his longtime girlfriend. I promised to attend his wedding, but I didn't make it because my work back then prevented me from having a social life (as if my previous job is doing that now-badabump).

ANyway, earlier in the week, while doing my stalking sessions on friendster, I came upon their page, and found out his wife already gave birth. I thought was I really that out of touch with this friend of mine that I don't know anything anymore. So I congratulated them.

THe next day, I received a text from Bri, asking me to be their son's godfather. I was actually surprised because like I said earlier, haven't been in touch with him for a long time. I guess the last time we texted each other lengthily was during the winning championship game of the Bedan LIons 2 years ago. I accepted. ONe thing I learned from my parents is never to reject an offer to become a godfather to someone's child.

So yesterday, I went to QC. BUt being the eternal disappointment that I am, as my friend would surely have found out anyway, I came late and missed the ceremony. I got there during the picture taking sessions. Hey, in my defense, I made an effort. I normally don't go to christenings or weddings or anything social like that.

The thing that actually touched me was when he told me that for this child I am the only one from the college days that was the godfather of the boy. I really felt guilty for not being able to get there on time. (I was buying a gift).

ANyway, not to make any empty promises, but I'll be a good godfather to that kid. Herson and Sophia are special as they are children of my very good friends. I'm not saying that all others aren't special. Of course they are. IT's just that these kids have more weight for me.

I know I just said something that I shouldn't. To my other kumares and kumpares who's reading this. I'm just saying.

MONEY MATTERS FOR MARCH

I did it. Yesterday, I submitted my resignation letter. This has been six months in the making. I'm looking at changing careers, but of course if you've been following my blogs religiously, you know that already.
Changing careers away from the call center industry has already guaranteed that my financial situation will be less desirable. This also means that I have to start saving money soon.

I've already planned this 3 months ago, and I'm proud to say that I've already saved some money. But of course there are some things that we can't expect and needs to be paid, so I have to spend my money wisely, specially now that my first bill from Globe still hasn't been issued after 4 months.

NOw that I have internet access, I actually don't need anymore to pay for my cellphone as well as cable. I'll have these services disconnected soon. Probably by this week. Even my comic books won't escape casualty. I'll be dropping some titles that I don't read anymore.

So starting this month I won't be buying anymore some comic books.
My pull list now will just include:
Captain America
New Avengers
Incredible Hercules
X-Factor
Runaways
Secret Invasion
Mighty Avengers

Good thing also that I have a steady supply of video games on my shelf. NO need for me to leave the house and spend money for unnecessary things. Movies can be downloaded from the net. So good for me, right.

I just hope everything goes well with the companies that I applied for.

366 DAY PLAN

2nd day of being 26 and this is something sort of normal for me. I didn't really do anything special on my birthday this year. But as mundane my celebration was yesterday, my plan for this year is not. I would like this year to be extraordinary.
Here are some plans I have for myself to be accomplished this year:

- Go out of town at least once.
- FInd a new job... a non-call center work
- But first resign from my latest work
- Leave the country? (still in question)
- Learn everything I need to learn about my pc (be more techie)
- Join a game show on tv (high time people see me on screen again)
- Save more money
- As of writing, I really want to have a kid...
- Write more interesting and entertaining entries
- Date more... FInd a constant date
- Meet more new people...
- Spend less on comic books

THE BOOB ENTRY

NOt that kind of boob you dirty person you... This is about my favorite boob- the boob tube. I think that line just made me sound gay. This is what I love about having internet, free access to US television shows. Well not really free as I have to pay monthly dues for internet access.

ANyway the this month have been very fruitful for me in terms of watching television. I know there's been some strike going on with the AMerican tv and movie writers that's why our favorite shows have been lacking lately. And I'm the type who'd rather wait for the season to finish before watching the series itself. To avoid having to wait for complete episodes.

And this year, although not a very good year for television shows, but still there were some really interesting and smart shows that came out.

CHUCK
I love this show very much! I love that it shows geeks can bag hot women with nice bosoms. Pretty much unbelievable but still relatable. Chuck is your everyman, only thing is that he has all the government secrets stored in his brain. I love this show.

REAPER
NOw this show, I want to watch over and over and over. It's funny. It's not that smart but it's very witty. What would you do if your parents sell your soul to the devil? That's basically the premise of the story, and that's a very good premise. Something that I sometimes wanted to do, if I'm really desperate about something.

PUSHING DAISIES
A feel good and very smart fairy tale is something television lacks. And this show offers heaps and heaps of it. In a very modern way. I only saw the first episode of this show and I thought that it really is very intelligent. Something like the movie Big Fish only more creative.

PRIVATE PRACTICE
Wow, this show have some episodes that made me cry. Not depressing. But touching is the word. This show is quite touching.

GOSSIP GIRL
Generally, with the exception of Dawson's Creek, I hate teenybopper shows. And this borders on one of them. But damn, this is a guilty pleasure. Kirsten Bell's sexy voiceovers as gossip girl as well as S and B's storylines kept me glued to my seat last weekend. Although this show, if I can type this part of the entry with an invisible ink, I will.

Other favorites: Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Dexter and 30 Rock as well as The Office. Soon I'll have more time to watch these shows.

FEEL GOOD NAMAN

Oh well. Di ko pa panahon.

************

MID-20'S: MY LAST YEAR AS ONE

This month marks my entering the last year of being in my mid-20's. I'm about to exit the quarter life and soon (gasp!) will be facing the dreaded three-o.

Am I looking forward to it? There are things to look forward to, but honestly, I'm not really sure. Age is just a number anyway. But what I'm scared about is not having a lot to show for in terms of accomplishments. While I have done a lot in terms of my career, I really don't see it as enough to consider me really successful.

Three more weeks and I'll be 26. I don't have a clue yet as to what I'll do on my birthday. The last 3 years I've been celebrating it with close friends from work, but I don't work in my previous company anymore. I'd really like to invite over my colleagues from my current job, but I've been really quiet at work, so I don't really know. As of now, I have no plans. Although, I already have budget for it.

I realized that I should be celebrating adding 1 more year to my life as it also means that I'm becoming wiser. Not necessarily more mature, but wiser... I shouldn't be talking about what I have achieved this past 2 months as it might stop my momentum. I've done something good for myself, and I'm happy about it.

26... dang! So much to do... so little money!!!

I WANT TO GO ABROAD

This would be my goal for the next two years. If you've read my previous entry, I mentioned that this would be the year that I learn to save money. I really don't want to work anymore. I'm tired of waking up everyday and going to the office. I want to own my time and be my own boss.

The way money is coming in here in the Philippines, I guess it will take me more than ten years to save enough money to start my won business. So this is where going abroad will come in. I heard Dubai has some good paying call centers. I'm sure that I'll be able to get in easy if I apply now since I have a good experience with my previous jobs.

Of course I need to have a passport first. That's the first thing I'll get the moment I resigned from my present post. The reason that it's my goal for the next two years is for me to be able to save money to pay for tickets and all the requirements.

I guess my goal for posting tonight is to ask for advise on what kind of job should I look for, and what's the easiest way for me to get a job abroad. I need your help.

THE YEAR I BECAME SENTI

2008 a new year, and a new resolution. As this is the year that I enter the last year of being in the mid-20's range, I've come to look back at what I have done since I entered my 20's.

CAREER

For a brief period of time I finally been on top of the career that I've entered after I graduated. I left pretty much earlier to try and find new things. Spread my wings.
Unfortunately, job hunting is difficult when you don't have the budget. I ended up working in a call center again. Silver lining though is that it's a dayjob.
I may not like where I am at the moment career-wise but with all the decisions in life I've made, I have no regrets.
I'm actually rethinking staying here in the Philippines. Maybe there are better things in store for me abroad.

FAMILY

My parents have achieved one of their dreams in their adult life... going to the States. I'm happy for them.
Last year, my family actually grew.
For 4 months I lived in an apartment and developed a relationship stronger than friendship with some of the people I worked with.
The last few days of 2007 I felt how it is having brothers. And actually for the first time, our house finally had life. Just read previous entry.

MONEY

Being a yuppie, the last few years I've been able to purchase the things that I really wanted to buy: comics, perfume, XBox360, speakers and DVD's.
The thing is, with all those purchases, I wasn't able to save money. Four years working, and none to show for it in terms of money.
If there is one regret I have in my life, is that I never learned to save money. But more of that in future posts.
Money matter will be something that I'll learn this year.

RELATIONSHIPS

The last few years have been a roller coaster for me in terms of relationships.
Typical single who can't keep someone for longer than I wanted to. Who knows, maybe it's me or I just have lousy luck in terms of love.
Lovelife may be bad, good thing though, the same could not be said about my sex life.
Other than that, everything's the same with me.

Looking forward to this year, I'm not sure that this will be a good year, but there's nothing wrong about being optimistic. It has to be my new credo in life. Find a good thing in every decision I make. And be happy. Always be happy.

Even if I can't find a reason to.

FAMILY REUNION

The main reason why I haven't been in touch with this blog for the past 3 weeks is having a visitor here at home. My cousins from the States came to the country over the holiday to experience Christmas and New Year, Filipino style.

You see Brandon and Drew have never been to the country before, it's their first time here and they haven't met their entire family yet. I think it's safe to say that they were really surprised to find out that they have a huge family in the Philippines.

Christmas was actually the date for our slight family reunion with 4 generations of the clan in attendance. The picture you see here is but only a fraction of our entire family. It doesn't even include the families of my dad's siblings. His siblings aren't even complete in this picture. He has 6 other surviving siblings.

Anyway, they left already today, and I actually am starting to miss them. I'm not really used anymore to have this house quiet. And actually, this might sound cheesy, but for the few days that they were here, I actually felt how it is having brothers, and it's actually fun.

Some other family reunion stories, I have a tip about how to be a good uncle.

"NEVER lend your phone to your young nephews or nieces."

During the holiday, I actually lost all the pictures in my phone on Christmas. I don't know what happened but poof, all my pictures were gone. Good thing that I've already transferred all of it to my pc before that happened. If only my nephew wasn't cute, I may have thrown him out my window.

CANNOT WAIT FOR DEC. 23

The reason... My old program's vet's REUNION!!! As you all know by now, I've already moved on from my old life. But the thing is, I have a connection with my old family that I really am having a hard time cutting. It's just that they've been like my real family for more than 3 years of my life. I love my friends there. The next time you read a blog from me, most probably on Christmas Eve, I'll have pictures from the party.

Oh by the way, it's Christmas already!!! DArn. I'm not being cheap, but out of the 13 or 14 godchildren that I have, only 3 will receive a gift. One may receive a monetary present as well. That'd be my first godson. All the rest, are not in Manila. I'm sorry guys if I haven't been a good godfather, but it's really hard to be one specially if I don't see you regularly. But I always pray for you guys... if I could remember all of your names. JOke!!!

ENCHANTED VS THE GOLDEN COMPASS

2007 isn't really a very good year for me in terms of movie-watching. Normally, every week I see a good movie as long as there's a good one that's being released, but this year is different. It took me about 2 months to see another movie. It's either I had no time, money or date. I guess we'd also have to add the fact that there really aren't a lot of good movies that came out this year. A lot of average films and only a few outstanding movies... heck even Harry Potter wasn't that awe-inspiring.

Fortunately though, since this is the time where we got our 13th month pay, I had a little money to spend for my other love... cinema!!! The last couple of days I got to see the 2 films that have been highly recommended for me to watch. Enchanted and The Golden Compass.
Ever since the success of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, fantasy films became very popular. A lot were disappointing, but there are a few that actually delivered. Now that film outfits are so keen on turning books into movies, so as not to be disappointed I decided to just skip the books and jump into the film immediately before deciding to read the book.
I am not going to compare the two as they are really different movies. One's light and the other's more epic. But both are equally amazing experiences to see.
ENCHANTED
This quirky tale of a fairy tale princess who was thrown into the real world is the type of film stressed out yuppies like me should be watching. It's funny, sweet (without the chickflicky sort of feeling) and satisfying to watch. It's a kid's movie but it's not the type where you'll be embarassed once you get spotted seeing in the cinema.
Giselle was about to be wed to Prince Edward, but unfortunately his stepmother (as per every other fairy tales) don't want her to be the next queen. So the queen pushed Giselle in a well that is actually a gateway to our realm. That's where she met Robert, a single father who stopped believing in fairy tales.
THE GOLDEN COMPASS
This is part one of a trilogy from a novel that I have never heard about. It's heavily controversial because people are saying that the film is actually anti-semitic (no idea what that means). I've seen it, and I really can't see how this contradicts our belief in God, or maybe I'm not really that smart to read between the lines.
It's about this girl Lyra who can read the signs on the Golden Compass (an item which reveals the truth) and her quest to save the children from the evil that is Mrs. Coulter and the Magisterium. I love this film because of the effects and the daemons and the polar bears and the witches and Nicole Kidman. And oh yeah, James Bond was actually in this film.
Both are good fantasy films.
Enchanted: 9/10
The Golden Compass: 8/10

BEST SONG LINES EVER!!!

I am the type of person who listens to music alot. And not just the tunes, I listen to the words more importantly. I love being hit in the gut by powerful lines add the cool voice of the singer. Here are some of the lines that I like.

YOU & ME
cuz it's you and me
and all of the people
with nothing to do, nothing to lose
and it's you and me
and all of the people
and I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you
(wow, this song, particularly this line just perfect when you're alone with your loved one. Just staring at her face, just being with that person... you already feel complete)

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL
there must be an angel with a smile on her face
when she thought up that i should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth
I will never be with you.
(I can so relate to this line... this is my song to the one who got away... or was never meant to be... how depressing)

SAMSON
You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first
(I don't really know what this means, but my interpretation is that the love was a mistake, but still its the best mistake... that happens, right?)

DREAMING WITH A BROKEN HEART
When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part
You roll out of bed and down on your knees
and for a moment you can hardly breathe
wonderin' was she really here
Is she standing in my room
No she's not 'cause she's gone gone gone gone gone
(Ouch, that freakin' hurts. Makes you say just shoot me.)

TIME AFTER TIME (Tuck and Patti)
If you're lost you can look
and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you
I'll be waiting
Time after time
(It's specifically the Tuck and Patti version that I'm talking about, not anything else. The way it was sung... God! You know each word is meant when it was said)

SIGNAL FIRE
The perfect words never crossed my mind
Cause there was nothing in there but you
(That's how normal people feel when they're in front of the person they really like. THe best opening for any song.)

EASIER
It gets it gets easier without you
I won't feel right, I can't feel right
without you
but it gets, it gets easier.
(The song you should listen to when you need to move on. Everything heals with time... it gets easier)

BONDING MOMENTS

One of the things I never really expected to happen the day I stepped in the office of my previous company 4 years ago, was that I'll be meeting very good friends that will make my stay there worthwhile.

The thing with me is that after I leave something (ie high school, college or my previous job), the line of communications between myself and my friends there are cut. We lose touch, or worse friends become strangers.

That's what I am trying to avoid with the people that I met in my previous job. A lot of wonderful memories were created in my four year stay there and I am not ready to give it up at the moment. My former agents may tell me to move on. But how can you move on from something that made you really happy, right?

It's been awhile already, but I can now relate to everyone else who've left the account when they say how bonding in our program is something that's rare in the real world. AS they say, "we were really a family." That's true. When we moved to Marikina, what happened was that not only were we co-workers, we actually became neighbors, housemates and truly a family.

I know it's unfair for my new company that I'm judging it by the people that I'm working with. I am looking for the things that I found in my previous company and am unwilling to accept the culture that this company has. But the thing is, I don't want to invest alot of my emotions, loyalty or what have you, because this current job that I have is only a transition job. I don't intend to stay for a long time because there's another industry that I really want to work in.

In any case, the pictures you're looking at was taken yesterday during my colleague's birthday. Funny story, she (the birthday celebrant) was actually a little depressed earlier that day because she thought that there wouldn't really be alot of people who'll be celebrating her birthday with her. Boy was she wrong. Just goes to show that when you are well liked, no matter what obstacles, your friends will weather all of them to be with you. Happy birthday Shams.

I'm going to borrow a quote from my friends which is true with our little family, "it's not the beer that makes the gathering memorable, it's the company you're with."

X-Men: Messiah CompleX

I have been a fond reader of comics since I learned how to read. In fact, I may not be as fluid in the language if I haven't been reading those things as a kid. And the title that appealed to me the most during my childhood days is X-Men.

And if you're the type of person who lost interest in the this hobby once hair started growing in places of your body not everyone is seeing, then I'll update you on what's happening. As of today, mutants are an endangered species. Less than 200 hundred mutants populate the Marvel Universe, and for the last two years or so, no new mutant manifestation ever occurred... until today.

*** Spoilers Ahoy ***

This is the central theme of Messiah Complex. A mutant birth, and everyone who wants to claim power over the mutant population are all after the same kid. The reason: unknown. But the future of everyone hangs on the balance and whoever will get a hold of this baby will turn the tide of war and might have a good chance of getting the upperhand in holding the mutant's fate.

We're almost halfway to this weekly event that brings all X-men teams, and contrary to past events A LOT already happened.

A team of X-Men from different era's were assembled to find a new mutant in a small town in Alaska. Unfortunately, they're not the only ones who wants the child. Mr. Sinister and the mutant hating Purifiers are also looking for the child. Unbeknownst to all of them, another one is also looking for it... it's purpose... DINNER!!!

Cyclops knows they're one step behind everyone else and quickly asks for help from everyone he can get to find the child. THe X-men decides that to get to Sinister, they need to get a hold of everyone Sinister's dealt with... enter the Acolytes.

Enter Madrox (the Multiple Man) and Rictor. Being an investigator, Madrox must visit the two possible futures to find out what happened in the present when the baby was born and how it affects the future. And as for Rictor, since he's not a mutant anymore he has to infiltrate the Purifier's headquarters and find out if they have the child.

Meanwhile the new breed of X-men decide to take on the very same group who murdered their classmates... the Purifiers. Suffice it to say, being greenhorns that they are, things turn for the worse.

The X-Men attack their adversaries on all fronts and their efforts were for naught. Wolverine lost his healing powers, the New X-MEn possibly suffered another casualty and were teleported to different locations, the mansion gets attacked by the Sentinels.

Good thing the baby is in the hands of a good guy... Cable. But is that really a good thing?

SNEAK PEEK OF MY ROOM

They say that how your room looks is a basis as to how neat a person is. But don't be fooled, my room looks clean at the moment because my parents just returned so the whole house has to look neat. In a couple of weeks time my room will return to looking like a pigsty. I'm really a slob. In any case, the things you'll see in my room... On top of my telly are two speakers from my kickass sound system. Beside the fan at the bottom right side of the pic is my XBox 360. Boxes of my purchases are found on top of my closet and my books and comic books as well. Believe it or not, my framed diplomas are the one at the bottom left side of my room.

Here's my perfume collection. This is basically my vanity cabinet. Can you name all the perfumes there?

That is my bed. On top of it, aside from my pillows is the book that I'm currently reading (Foucault's Pendulum). I'm trying really hard to understand what it's about. And that white thing over there is the controller for my XBox 360. My comics box is the blue thing there that you see

That's my comic book collection obviously. The titles that you're seeing are Justice League of America 1, Astonishing X-men, The Mighty Avengers, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man and World War Hulk. Below my comicbook collection are the cases of my PS2 games, Xbox games and DVD movies. Right now, my DVD titles are Harry Potter 2 and 4, 300 and Transformers.

YUPPY JOURNAL

Nov. 25, Sunday: the country's in the midst of a storm and I really don't have anything to write for my journal. Maybe next year I should create another 100 journal entry goal for things to do in 2008. Thinking of a reason for not coming to work tomorrow if the weather doesn't tame (if that's the correct term).

Let me tell you something about my current job. But before anything else, for those who know what my previous job is, and might think that I've made a mistake... I do not regret any decision I've made in my life. I'm starting over in another call center that's on a day shift. Yes, I am an agent again from being a Supervisor. Like I said, I don't regret this decision.

I really have no plans of returning to the call center industry after I left my previous job. I want a real, minimum-wage-earning-really-stressful-but-connected-to-my-course job. As what I've said to some people at work, I don't want to waste 4 year's worth of tuition fee and allowance from my ever-loving parents (naks plastic!!!).

ANyway, as I said, I'm working in a call center again. This time though I'm not dealing with sales, it's more of customer service and sometimes a little of technical support. Another difference is that I don't deal with Canadians, but their equally nice counterparts in Australia. Also, I'm not dealing with credit card services, telephone lines or computers, but this time my account is about cellular phones... postpaid cellphones. As with my previous entries to protect myself and the company, I'm not going to namedrop.

Here's the thing, before with my previous job, I never really had a problem with regard my attendance, but with my new job, I've only been there for like 3 months but I've already been suspended. Definitely not a characteristic of an ex-supervisor. Although, I am proud to say that tardiness is not a problem with me.

I'm actually thinking of leaving soon, it's just that there's a bond where I'm working so that means I have to stay until March. But, once an opportunity comes my way, I'd grab it. Me being the grabber that I am hehehe.

**************

Maybe in the future I'll think of going to another country, or starting my own business. I just don't know what to start. Do you guys have something in mind?

THE RETURN!!!

This is the first time I've blogged in months... Hopefully this time it will be more frequent... I finally have a computer and internet access at home!!! All the more reason for me not to have a social life!!!

Yay!!!

BUt this year's been good to me (maybe not professionally, but hey life throws us stones at times, right?)... And as the end draws near, I will be writing some of the things that happened to me in 2007. The highlights of this year.

  • I resigned from ICT as the account's supervisor!!!
  • I started from scratch on my new job (no aspiration to move up at the moment though)
  • I bought an XBox 360
  • I lived in Marikina for 4 months (and got fat there)
  • Fortunately, I lost 20 lbs after I left (that's 6 months of diet and exercise)
  • Oh yeah, I'm working on a day job now!!!
  • Of course, blogging won't be possible if I don't have a pc (all the more reason for me to be absent at work).
  • My parents went to the US and came back with perfumes for me!!!
  • I might spend Christmas this year pennyless. THank YOu outrageous TAXES!!!

Hopefully, blogging will become a regular thing from now on. Thank you Globe wireless broadband. I'll keep you posted, and might post some pictures as well. And maybe I might get back my wit and write some funny entries. Cross your fingers.
